Julie 2 is a Tamil movie released in 2010. It was directed by Hari and stars Kamal Haasan and Jyothika. The film is about Julie, a girl haunted by guilt because she avenged her sister's death that occurred years before the story's beginning. The question then becomes: how could she have avenged her sister's death? How would this girl know what happened to her since she was unconscious when it happened? In this movie, the audience finds out what Julie did during those years before the story starts. The film became a sleeper hit at the box office, grossing around ₹40 crore (US$6 million). The film was dubbed and released in Telugu as "Juli Excel" on 2005. It was made into Chinese language as "沉默城市" (Silent City) on 12 July 2014.The movie gave Kamal Haasan his first major hit in more than ten years after the failure of Aalavandhan (1998). The film is also regarded as one of the successful films of Jyothika, who starred alongside him in four films - Julie, Roja, Manmadhan and Iruvar. According to Aravind L. D. from "Behindwoods", the film is an original effort by director Hari. "The story, screenplay and dialogues are simple and intelligent without any complexities. As a result, it is a very entertaining movie at the box office". Bala Ramesh from "Rediff" praised the film as a remake of Tamil movie 'Iruvar' which is nothing but a remake of Hindi movie 'Lajja'. The music was composed by Vidyasagar with lyrics penned by Vaali, Devulapalli Natasha, A. M. Rajah and Snehan. The Soundtrack of the film was released on April 7, 2010 under the label Sony Music.The movie was dubbed into Telugu as "Juli Excel" (with only Kamal Haasan's name changed) and released in 32 theatres all over Andhra Pradesh on 21 October 2005. The film also received a dubbed version in Hindi as "Ghar Ka Rishta". It was also remade into Kannada as "Nachina Ganda Vaa" starring Sriram and Ramya with Rajkumar, Ishita Dutta and Bhanupriya. This film earned a total of ₹6 crore worldwide from Telugu version, Tamil version and the Hindi version. On June 1, 2014, the New York Times reported that the film was being remade into Hindi by producer Sajid Nadiadwala. The cast included Manoj Bajpayee as Kamal Haasan's role of a cop, with Sonakshi Sinha playing Jyothika's role of Julie. However, on November 9, 2015 Sajid Nadiadwala tweeted that the film is not being made. The film was also remade into Korean language called "제이써" (Julie) starring Lee Young Ah as Julie and Jeong Hyeon-min as Baek Ji Young. cfa1e77820
